The agreement on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) struck by the co-legislators in June 2021 falls short of protecting the environment and tackling the climate crisis . The governance framework of the CAP political compromise fails to guarantee that agricultural subsidies will significantly contribute to achieving the European Green Deal (EGD).
