Our Benefits

People work for ClientEarth to take up challenging roles through which they can help others and work to secure a healthy planet. In return, we offer a range of benefits, competitive salaries, annual leave and pension provisions.

Core Benefits across all of our offices

  1. Flexible working

We offer a flexi-time policy that allows for earlier/later start and finish times on a regular and ad-hoc basis. You can find our working hours for each office below. We are proud to be a Flexa accredited Employer. Search "Flexa ClientEarth" for more information on our approach to flexible working.

  2. Remote working

Our flexible working policy allows our staff the choice to decide to work from home in the country where their contract of employment is issued for 80% of their month, with the other 20% of their month being office-based. We provide a laptop to enable home working and reimbursement of up to £300 (or local equivalent) to cover additional equipment needed to ensure that you have an ergonomically sound work space.

  3. Work From Abroad scheme

Staff can work from another country (for non-work reasons) for up to 30 working days per calendar year. To take advantage of this scheme staff must complete a number of declarations and be able to stay and work in the relevant country without breaching immigration rules or incurring tax or social security liability.

  4. Discretionary additional leave

In addition to our standard annual leave allowances (see country information, below) we also occasionally offer discretionary additional leave via organisation-wide shut downs, team away days and additional leave allowances. Terms and conditions will apply to these allowances. In 2024 we will be closed between Christmas and New Year.

  5. Approach to pay and progression

At ClientEarth we recognise the important contributions our staff make to achieving our strategic objectives. In order to improve transparency and consistency we have developed a global competency and banding framework with defined pay bands for each country that we operate in. We carry out benchmarking of salaries in each of the countries in which we operate to ensure that our pay bands remain competitive with the local market. We usually also have an annual cost of living increase following our performance review cycle. Where roles have changed significantly in terms of responsibilities and complexity, staff may progress within or between bands. Further details on these schemes will be available to you should you be offered a role with us. We will always advertise a salary amount and/or range in our job adverts. Should you have any questions on the advertised salary, please speak with your recruiter.

  6. Professional memberships

ClientEarth will cover the costs of any professional memberships where these are required for the role (for example, Solicitors Regulation Authority practicing certificate).

  7. Training course fees

We offer to pay for work-related training/courses and other incidental costs through salary sacrifice. This allows employees to continue their professional development in the most cost-effective way. See our Learning and Development page for more on our training opportunities.

  8. Staff Wellbeing Programme

We believe that employee wellbeing is essential for creating a healthy and productive workplace. We offer a range of wellbeing support for all our employees. See our learning, development and wellbeing page for more information.

  9. Patagonia PRO Programme

Staff in our European offices are eligible to join the Patagonia PRO Programme. Joining the programme gives you access to exclusive events and discounts on Patagonia’s outdoor clothing and gear, subject to restrictions.
