Securing the environmental ambition of the CAP

ClientEarth's work on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) currently focuses on the Proposal from the European Commission for a CAP Strategic Plan Regulation, which is scrutinised in this brief legal memo. While negotiations on the CAP are still ongoing, this document describes ClientEarth’s four priorities to support a better integration of principles of environmental protection within agricultural legislation, namely EU-wide targets underpinning the Union’s vision for agriculture, independent Farm Advisory Services, increased participation and transparency, and improved conditionality.
