Open letter: Why the EU's draft State aid Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework needs to put the environment at its centre

ClientEarth, together with Bankwatch, Climate Action Network, HEAL and E3G, sent an open Letter to Executive VP Vestager about leaked draft of Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework. Member States are expected to intensively use this framework for granting State aid. It is therefore paramount that the framework contributes to achieving the Green Deal objectives and the EU’s climate objectives. However, based on the draft framework, we are concerned that the risks of the framework outweighs its potential benefits.
