ClientEarth feedback on Pesticides REFIT

The Commission has initiated a review of all the main chemical regulations, including the pesticides regulation. These ‘REFIT’ processes are opportunities to identify the weaknesses of the regulations, but may also open the door for an unwelcome weakening of the regulations in favour of vested interest.

The first step of the process is the publication of a ‘roadmap’ by the Commission, setting the scene of the process. The ClientEarth chemicals team started to engage with the process from this early stage by contributing to the public consultation on the roadmap.
