Along with the négaWatt association, the European Environmental Bureau, EnergyCities, REScoop, and a range of organisations from civil society, academia, municipalities, businesses, and public service operators across Europe, ClientEarth is calling for EU decision-makers to make sufficiency a central part of the EU strategic agenda. To effectively address our growing energy, resource, and material demand in the EU, decision-makers must incorporate sufficiency across all relevant policies, alongside other approaches to addressing the interrelated socio-economic, climate, and environmental crises. Doing so will improve security and our resilience to shocks and risks, reduce system and consumer costs and increase competitiveness, facilitate the achievement of climate and energy targets, improve equity and wellbeing, and contribute to a more sustainable society overall.
