Martin Watters joined ClientEarth in 2018, having worked in communications, public relations and media for more than 15 years.

Martin currently leads on communications for high-profile legal actions to hold governments and corporations to account over climate change, fossil fuels and corporate greenwashing. He currently manages comms for ClientEarth’s Climate Accountability, Climate Finance, Forests, Trade, UK Environment, and Asia Climate and Energy programmes.

A journalist by trade, Martin started his career as a reporter for a daily newspaper, covering business and the courts. He then moved into managing national media and communications campaigns for some of Australia’s largest trade unions. Before joining ClientEarth, Martin managed media for start-up companies in Europe’s clean technology and renewable energy sectors.

It has never been more important to address the climate and biodiversity crises we face today. ClientEarth is breaking new ground in holding to account those governments and corporations most responsible, and I’m proud to be alongside such a talented team communicating its work.
