In the past few years, we've witnessed the number of legal approaches to holding corporations accountable rapidly grow and evolve. From the numerous lawsuits filed by US states and local governments against polluters for their public deception and role in climate change, to shareholder actions and other innovative new lawsuits such as ClientEarth's new case on 'zombie wells' in the US. With just 100 companies responsible for 71% of global emissions, this session explores the growing ways in which the law can be used to hold corporations accountable for their impact on our climate. Our panel of experts will explore relevant cases and anticipate the next frontiers in this fight.
