Access to Justice update from ClientEarth and Justice & Environment

Answer the public consultation on Access to justice!

As explained in a previous article, the European Commission is organising a public consultation on how the EU should implement the access to justice provisions of the Aarhus Convention. It is open until March 14, 2019.

Here’s ClientEarth's reply, that combines our answers to the first part of the questionnaire and an Annex providing more detailed arguments on each point. The second part of the questionnaire relates to the experience you have with access to courts.

The number of contributions to the consultation is an important factor that the European Commission will take into account in its decision process. It is therefore very important that we all take the time to reply.

The input to the consultation will feed into the decision of the European Commission to take the necessary measures to bring about compliance with the Aarhus Convention and hopefully revise the Aarhus regulation accordingly.

Here’s the link to the questionnaire. Feel free to join any documents as further evidence.
