The European Commission’s proposal for an EU Regulation on deforestation-free products, published on 17 November 2021, integrates and repeals the EU Timber Regulation. It is a flagship initiative under the European Green Deal and represents a significant development as part of the EU’s commitment to address deforestation and forest degradation.
