Joint NGO letter to EU decision makers on the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund

A group of NGOs have sent a letter to decision makers on the adoption of the European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) to express our disagreement and disappointment with the content of the fund. Despite the EU and international commitments calling for the elimination of harmful fisheries subsidies in the EU and globally, with this EMFAF, EU decision makers are maintaining and even introducing new harmful fisheries subsidies that will lead to more overcapacity, more overfishing and more ocean degradation.
