For an effective implementation of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework: what is needed at CBD COP15 and beyond

In December 2022, global leaders will meet in Montreal, Canada for the 15th Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity to decide on the future of nature. The success of this UN Biodiversity Conference will largely depend on the negotiators agreeing on processes to enhance transparency and accountability in the planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and review of the Global Biodiversity Framework.

In this policy brief, ClientEarth and IDDRI present some key recommendations, in the form of an Enhanced Implementation Cycle, that will increase the impact of our collective global efforts to tackle the biodiversity crisis.
