Code – 2017 – Code of Forest Harvesting Practices – Liberia

The Code of Forest Harvesting Practices provides a set of guidelines on responsible forest management, to help foresters and logging companies during their harvesting operations. The practices and standards have been developed based on research and practical experiences in Liberia’s tropical forests. Furthermore, it aims to improve standards of logging and reduce environmental impacts, thereby contributing to the conservation of forests through their wise use. It also provides a framework for effective control of timber harvesting operations, with predetermined guidelines and benchmark.
