CHEM Trust, Heal, EEB and ClientEarth’s comments regarding MOCs and hazard classes for endocrine disruption in the CLP Regulation as follow up to CASG ED 6

The EU is in the process of reforming one of its main chemical regulation, “CLP” – the regulation that gives you the infographics for chemical hazards on your dish soap. This regulation has so far ignored a very important group of hazardous chemicals – those disrupting our hormones, leading to grave health and development issues. Having endocrine disruptors properly identified under CLP will unlock crucial informational flow and regulatory obligations.

With CHEM Trust, Heal and EEB, ClientEarth contributes to an early stage of the process – the finalisation of the criteria to identify endocrine disruptors by the Commission, before it submits an official proposal to turn it into law.

Our demands aim at pushing back against proposals which set a level of evidence so high that many endocrine disruptors will be artificially protected from scrutiny.
