Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) Framework 2015

The ASM Framework provides a comprehensive plan to improve ASM mining in Ghana (2015-2023) with short-, medium- and long-term objectives, strategies, timelines and budget established (section 7). This plan is based on the results of several studies (section 4) and country-wide consultations (section 3).

In developing the strategic framework for ASM, a number of policies and other key documents were also considered (such as the Minerals and Mining Policy and National Environmental Policy), and issues highlighted (section 2).
