According to the 2010 Freedom of Information Act, the right of access to information includes both a right to request and receive information, and an obligation on the part of public bodies and officials to disseminate essential information that the public would generally want to know, including their core functions and key activities. In addition, the right to request information is independent of personal interest in the information. As such, no one shall be asked or required to provide a justification or reason for requesting any information.
