Flaminia specialises in European Fisheries laws. She follows the development of various fisheries regulations and their implementation. She has strong expertise in the legislations granting fisheries subsidies at EU level and insights into the politics of subsidies. She has a wide experience in advocacy at EU level with the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council. She coordinates the work and, if needed, campaigns with the other NGOs working on fisheries at EU or national level.
Before joining ClientEarth, Flaminia worked for the European Commission in different DGs (DG MARE, DG REGIO) as a legal officer and coordination officer. Between 2011 and 2013, during the revision of the Common Fisheries Policy, she was part of the small drafting team of the proposal of the Commission for the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund. She was also part of the negotiating team of the Commission who presented and negotiated the proposed legislation with the Council and Members of the European parliament.
Flaminia graduated from the Maîtrise in French and German law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and University of Cologne (Germany). She then specialised in European Law at the College of Europe – Bruges.
