Emma Bud

Emma joined ClientEarth’s Brussels office in August 2021. She leads ClientEarth’s clean air work in Western Europe, advocating at EU level for effective air pollution laws, and coordinating strategic litigation across the region on the human right to clean air.

Experience

Before joining ClientEarth, Emma worked in commercial litigation and arbitration at an international law firm. While there, she represented clients in the global shipping, trade, and energy sectors.

Education

Emma studied European Social and Political Studies at University College London, and is a qualified solicitor of England and Wales. Having trained as a lawyer in London, Paris and Geneva, she speaks fluent French and German, as well as her native English and Italian.

I love working to make Europe a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable place for the people that live there. I am passionate about using the law to bring about long-lasting change, and I am proud to be part of an organisation which allows me to use my skills for the public good.
