Professor John Boardman is a geomorphologist educated at the Universities of Keele (BA and DSc) and London (BSc and PhD). Now an Emeritus Fellow, he is the former Deputy Director of Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute, and former Director of its ‘Environmental Change and Management’ MSc and also a Research Fellow at Green College.

He has published over 100 papers and has edited several books. One of his main research interests is on the relationship between land degradation and climate change.
