I’ve forgotten my password

You can reset your password via our forgotten password page.

I really want to work for you. Can I send you a copy of my CV?

We do not accept speculative CV applications. All applications for jobs at ClientEarth must be made online via our jobs portal. Should you not want to apply immediately, you can create a vacancy alert and receive an email every time we post a job that matches your search criteria.

I want to do an internship with you. Can I send you a copy of my CV?

We do occasionally have paid internship opportunities. These will always be advertised on our jobs portal where you will need to apply. You can create a vacancy alert and receive an email every time we post an opportunity that matches your search criteria. We do not accept speculative CV applications for internships.

Do you offer work experience, work placement or volunteering opportunities?

Unfortunately we do not currently offer work experience, work placement or volunteering opportunities. We are a relatively small organisation and do not currently have the capacity to manage placements such as these, although this is something we are considering for the future. We also want to ensure that any opportunities we do offer are fairly compensated, and therefore open to the widest number of people. If you are looking to gain experience in our field, do look out for our paid internship opportunities, which we advertise on our careers site. You can create an alert and be notified as soon as we post an opportunity that matches your criteria.

Can I get an alert when you post new jobs?

You can create a vacancy alert and receive an email every time we post a job that matches your search criteria. You can filter your alert by hours, location, contract type and area of work, so you only receive alerts that are relevant to you.

I’d like to speak to someone before applying.

Unfortunately due to the number of applications we receive for our roles, and to ensure fairness, we are unable to offer you the chance of speaking with the hiring team before you apply. If you have specific questions on the role, we encourage you to mention these in your supporting statement when applying. Should you be shortlisted for interview, you will have a chance to discuss your questions with the interview panel.

Which language should I apply in?

The working language at ClientEarth is English and therefore all applications must be made in English. Should you apply in another language we may reject your application.

Why do you ask about my gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation etc. and what will you do with this information?

Submission of this information is voluntary and will only be used for statistical monitoring purposes. Disclosure of this information will help us to monitor our commitment towards creating equal opportunities. Any answers that you give in this section are separated from your application by our recruitment system and cannot be seen by members of the hiring panel.

I want to apply for one of your jobs but I don’t have the right to work in the country where the job is based. Will you sponsor me?

For the majority of our roles, candidates must have the pre-existing right to work in the country where the job is based. Occasionally, if a role is particularly hard to fill we will be able to provide visa sponsorship. Where this is the case it will be clearly stated in the job ad.

I’d like to amend my application. How can I do this?

You can amend your application at any time up until you submit it. You will not be able to amend your application after submitting it. We therefore recommend you double check your application before submitting it.

Where are your offices?

You can find all of our office locations on our website.

Can I work for you remotely?

We have a remote working framework that allows for significant remote working within the country where your contract was issued. See our Benefits page for more information. It is not possible to work for us remotely in a country where we do not have a registered office on a long-term basis.

I’m having some problems submitting my supporting statement. Can you help?

Our recruitment system has a strict 6,615 character limit for our supporting statement section. We recommend drafting your supporting statement in a programme that lets you run a word and character count and then copying and pasting the final text in to the supporting statement box.

Do I have to complete all of my application form in one go?

You can complete your application in multiple sittings, up to the advertised closing date. If you have started but not completed your application, you will receive a reminder email.

I have completed my application. Have you received it?

When you have successfully submitted your application you will receive an automated confirmation email. If you haven’t received this message please check your spam/junk email folder. You can also check the status of your application via our jobs portal – see below.

How do interviews work at ClientEarth?

For most of our roles, we run two rounds of interviews, with the stronger candidates from the first round being invited to the second round. Generally, first round interviews will be online via Teams. Second round interviews may also be on Teams, or potentially face-to-face if logistics allow. If you are invited to interview you will receive an email with further instructions on how to join the call or find our office. Please see our Practical tips page for more information on how to prepare for an interview with us.

What time zone do your interviews take place in?

We will confirm the time zone the interview will take place in via an Outlook calendar invitation. Your email software will automatically adjust this for your time zone. If you are in any doubt, please contact your Recruiter ahead of your interview.

Do you offer refunds for travel to interviews?

We generally run our first round interviews online via Teams. Second round interviews may be on Teams or potentially face-to-face if logistics allow. If you do need to travel to attend an interview, we encourage you to travel in an environmentally sustainable manner. If you are asked to travel for interview, please speak with your Recruiter before booking any travel to discuss your options.

You can amend and delete your profile via your candidate profile. Log in via our jobs portal then head to My Profile / My Details then click on Delete Profile.

I have applied for a ClientEarth job but not been successful. Can I get some feedback?

Unfortunately, due to the number of applications we receive for our roles we are unable to offer feedback to candidates who have not been shortlisted/invited to interview. If you have been unsuccessful after being interviewed, please contact your Recruiter to arrange for some feedback.
