Olav is the former Norwegian Secretary of State for International Development and later held numerous high-level positions across the UN.
This includes Director for Public Partnerships at UNICEF as well as Assistant Secretary-General at the UN Development Programme. In the latter role, he co-chaired the UN system-wide preparation for the post-2015 development agenda and was therefore heavily involved in the lead-up to and negotiations for the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He was Special Adviser to then UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on the Sustainable Energy For All initiative.
Olav was also CEO of the EAT Foundation, which works on transforming the global food system. At Article 109, Olav advises on engagement with European countries, the EU, and climate.
