Karlijn Steinbusch is the Director of the Med Sea Alliance and an Edinburgh Ocean Leader.

Having helped establish the Alliance, Karlijn has been instrumental in building a coalition dedicated to restoring the Mediterranean Sea by driving policy change to protect critical marine habitats, end illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and reduce the impact of destructive fishing practices. With a professional background in strategy consulting and philanthropy, Karlijn brings a results-oriented lens to ocean governance.

She is a firm believer in the power of collaborative impact, leveraging her experience in strategic scaling to bridge the gap between ambitious conservation goals and measurable, collective action on the water.
