Dharmesh Shah is an India-based environmental policy analyst, researcher, and writer whose work interrogates the systems that produce environmental harm.
His research and advocacy sit at the intersection of waste, petrochemicals, air pollution, biodiversity loss, climate change, and participatory governance. He currently serves as a Consulting Senior Campaigner with the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL), where he coordinates the Civil Society and Rights Holders Coalition in the global plastics treaty negotiations and advances work on health, human rights, and corporate accountability.
He is also a Senior Technical Advisor with the New Delhi–based Legal Initiative for Forest and Environment (LIFE), where he works at the interface of environmental litigation, policy reform, and community-centered governance, focusing on air pollution, plastics, climate, and environmental health.
