About ClientEarth

Green leaders choose ClientEarth as most effective UK environmental group

The Environmental Funders Network sought the opinions of chief executives from 92 environmental organisations for its report, “What the Green Groups Said: Insights from the UK Environment Sector”. The full report will be published next week. The survey was conducted in the late 2016 and in early 2017.

The environmental leaders were asked to identify which groups they felt achieved the most given the resources available to them. They were also surveyed on why they felt the organisation they chose was so effective.

James Thornton, CEO of ClientEarth, said: “Recognition of our work is always encouraging, no matter what the audience. Affirmation from leaders within our field is of especially great value and our impact is a testament to the expertise of all our staff.

As we approach our ten-year marker, it’s great to see we have put down such strong roots. Cooperation with other environmental groups is a fundamental part of our strategy and we look forward to strengthening such relationships still further in the years ahead.

ClientEarth is headquartered in London and does much work on UK environmental issues. It also has offices in Warsaw and Brussels, has just been registered to operate in Beijing, and works on legal capacity building in central and west Africa.

The UK’s leading environmental charities, in the same survey, also named our CEO as one of the the top 10 environmental heroes. Last month The Lawyer magazine gave ClientEarth its award for public sector regulatory team of the year.
