Visionary Artistry: Unveiling a Special Edition with Brazilian Artist Marina Perez Simāo

Renowned Brazilian artist Marina Perez Simāo paints landscapes, but they’re landscapes from another world. Soft curves morph into impossible forms – like a sun sandwiched between two vertical mountains, or a sky full of waves.

For the first time Simāo has translated the language of her oil paintings, inspired by the undulating landscapes of Brazil, into an embroidered tapestry. 483,233 stitches and 24 colours in each artwork, which is crafted and assembled in Lyon – a historic cradle for French textiles.

50 editions of this very special piece - Untitled - will be sold via Avant Arte  to benefit ClientEarth and the impactful Gallery Climate Coalition.  The edition will be on display at Art Basel in June 2023.
