ClientEarth CEO named one of ‘world’s most influential people in climate policy’

James Thornton, founder and CEO of ClientEarth, has joined David Attenborough and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a list of the World’s Most Influential People in Climate Policy.

The list, announced today, recognises James’ position as one of the world’s most influential thinkers on the use of the law to combat climate change and to protect the planet. He has worked across the globe, pioneering bold new ways of using the power of the law to ensure a healthy future for the Earth and all life on it.

Most influential green leaders

This inaugural list, developed by Apolitical, is based on the nominations of climate experts from key bodies such as the UNDP, Harvard University and Bloomberg Philanthropies. Joining James on the list are:

• Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — the youngest ever US congresswoman and lead advocate of the Green New Deal
• Hilda Heine — the president of the Marshall Islands spearheading their quest to go carbon-neutral by 2050
• David Attenborough — whose advocacy and widely-acclaimed programs have raised awareness of the devastating impacts of human society on the natural world
