The first ten years of the EU Ambient Air Quality Directive – an essential tool for protecting our health

The cornerstone of the EU’s air quality laws, Directive 2008/50/EC, has been in place for 10 years. The European Commission has launched a ‘Fitness Check’ to assess its relevance, effectiveness, efficacy, coherence and EU added value.
