No compromise on citizens’ right of access to EU documents

Read the letter to the Danish presidency and member states representatives:English | French

In coordination with Access Info Europe, the European Environmental Bureau, Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace, and with the support of many other organisations, ClientEarth has written to the Danish presidency of the council of the EU expressing our concern about the current status of negotiations on the recast of regulation 1049/2001 on access to documents.

We explain that it is crucial that the presidency and the representatives of member states take all steps necessary to ensure the right of public access to documents is fully respected in the future regulation.
