Joint letter to Vice-President Timmermans on the Energy Charter Treaty modernisation

While the COP27 is ongoing in Egypt, with the EU trying to find new ambitious pathways to deal with the climate crisis, at home, the Council of the EU is considering whether to bring new life to the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) by supporting its reform.

ClientEarth, together with 11 NGOs, is calling the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for the European Green Deal, Frans Timmermans, to take the leadership on this issue and foster a constructive dialogue with all Member States and ensure the Commission proposes a decision for an EU withdrawal.
