Follow-up observations to the Commission concerning the proposed Greek capacity mechanism

Despite its legal obligation to wait for Commission’s approval for implementing a capacity mechanism, Greece passed a law approving a capacity mechanism on 7 June 2019. ClientEarth and the Green Tank shared their concerns with the Commission that this may be contrary to the State aid rules, and  that Greece should not try to circumvent the Clean Energy Package by all means.
