The Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) has been evaluated by the European Commission. Its findings are clear: “The CFP Regulation remains a very important and relevant tool to manage a common natural resource and related economic activities in a changing world."
The focus must now be on accelerating full and effective implementation of the EU environmental and fisheries law across all EU sea basins. The briefing outlines key recommendations for strengthening implementation of the CFP, while demonstrating that there is no need nor time for a CFP revision.
