Professor Dr Ludwig Krämer is widely regarded to be among the top experts on environmental law and policy in the EU.


A German judge from 1969 to 2004, he served on secondment as the European Commission's Chief Counsel on the environment, working with the Commission for three decades. He has written over 160 articles on EU environmental law and authored a classic treatise and casebook on the subject. He is currently visiting Professor of Law at the College of Europe in Bruges. He also serves on the law faculties of four other universities including University College London.
