Marek Szolc joined ClientEarth in July 2016 after graduating with honours from the Law Faculty of the University of Warsaw. Based in ClientEarth’s Warsaw office, he works on the enforcement of the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) and tackling illegal logging in Central & Eastern Europe.
He also holds a master degree in French law from the University of Poitiers. His first post at ClientEarth was with the Biodiversity team, where he worked primarily on the implementation of the Water Framework Directive and the Nitrates Directive in Poland.
Before joining ClientEarth, Marek worked as a trainee lawyer in the litigation and dispute resolution team at Clifford Chance in Warsaw and Paris. During his studies he successfully participated in many moot court competitions, gaining experience in international investment law and commercial arbitration. He speaks Polish, English, French and Spanish.
