Elspeth Jones joined ClientEarth in January 2014. As a Barrister, Elspeth supports a number of projects at ClientEarth with her litigation and advocacy expertise, including the work of ClientEarth’s Climate Litigation Team.
Prior to joining ClientEarth, Elspeth practised as a self-employed barrister for 6 years at 4 Pump Court, a leading commercial barristers’ chambers in London, where she specialised in commercial litigation and international arbitration, with a focus on shipping and commodities, insurance, construction and professional negligence.
Elspeth was called to the bar in 2007. She has a wide range of litigation experience, including secondments in Hong Kong and China, and has regularly appeared as an advocate before a variety of courts and tribunals. Before leaving self-employed practice, Elspeth was identified in the 2014 edition of the Chambers and Partners legal directory as “a rising star” and “very bright and terrific to work with”. Elspeth read law as an undergraduate at the University of Oxford, followed by the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) post-graduate degree, before qualifying as a barrister in London.
