In the past twenty years the world has doubled its coal-fired power capacity after explosive growth in China and India. To avoid further catastrophic climate change, we must drastically reduce our reliance on coal across the world.
During this webinar, ClientEarth lawyers Dominique Doyle and Peter Barnett talk about the variety of legal levers they have used to accelerate the end of coal in Europe, and how the plan to take this approach into Asia is taking shape.
Dominique Doyle is a lawyer working in the Energy Team at ClientEarth. Prior to joining us Dominique worked for Friends of the Earth in London as a legal consultant, focusing on fracking and UK and EU climate work.
Peter Barnett joined ClientEarth's climate programme in 2018, focusing on litigation against companies and financial sector actors to drive greater integration of climate-related risk into corporate governance and decision-making. He now leads the coordination of projects in south-east, east and south Asia.
