It is perhaps fitting that in a year where human health has been almost unfailingly headline news, in this webinar we will be focusing on our clean air work across the globe. Reflecting on the Dieselgate scandal five years on, we’ll be highlighting the links between climate and our health, and commenting on the connections between air pollution, human rights and social inequality.
In the last ClientEarth Live webinar of 2020, we present two of our Brussels-based colleagues, lawyers Ugo Taddei, Director of Nature and Health and Irmina Kotiuk who will speak about how their team uses legal interventions, campaigns, advocacy and capacity building with partners to force governments into action against air pollution and hold businesses to account.
Irmina Kotiuk joined our Brussels office in March 2019. Irmina also works on the enforcement of EU air quality laws, using both litigation and other interventions at EU and international level.
Ugo Taddei leads the Clean Air team within the Strategic Litigation programme. His work aims to enforce compliance with EU air quality laws through litigation before national courts in EU member states. He also works to improve EU air pollution law, with a particular focus on vehicle emissions regulations.
