ClientEarth has launched a new project with the British Lung Foundation to help parents across the UK join the fight for their children’s right to breathe clean air.
The Clean Air Parents’ Network will bring together parents and carers of children to take action and campaign locally and nationally for urgent and bold action to protect the health of children.
Hundreds of schools across the country are located near roads with illegal and harmful levels of air pollution.
Children’s lungs are still growing and dirty air can stunt their lung development. This damage may never be reversed and could put them at higher risk of developing further health problems in later life.
Network coordinators at ClientEarth and the British Lung Foundation will also be organising activities in Greater Manchester, London, Merseyside and the West Midlands this year, so if you live in these areas make sure you sign up for updates.
The project is also featuring as a Guest Campaign on the formidable Mumsnet community site.
