Nick Goetschalckx joined ClientEarth in September 2019 as a Lawyer in the Oceans Team. Building on his expertise in the laws, policies, and politics of natural resource governance, Nick focuses on making fisheries more sustainable. In this regard, he engages in advocacy and strategic litigation on the internal and external dimensions of the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy.


Before joining ClientEarth, Nick worked in the environment team of the Delegation of the European Union to Cameroon. Previously, he worked as a policy coordinator for the ONE Campaign and as a junior associate at a boutique public law firm.

Education and Training

Nick holds a Master’s in International and European Law from the University of Antwerp and a Master’s in Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
