Marta Toporek started work in our Brussels office in July 2009.

Before joining ClientEarth, she worked for 6 years in the European Commission. Her experience in DG Environment focused on the transposition of European environmental law in the EU10 Member States and its subsequent enforcement in areas such as nature conservation, environmental impact assessment and waste management. During her stay at the General Directorate AIDCO she acted as a legal officer and contributed to the drafting of the Commission Regulation on the EU neighborhood cross-border cooperation.

Prior to her work at the Commission, she also worked in the European Economic and Social Committee and in the Warsaw office of the law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges where she was an associate before moving to Belgium.

She holds law degrees from Polish and French universities and is a graduate of the College of Europe in Bruges where she studied, among other things, European environmental law.

ClientEarth is a great place to work : you work with people who are not only interested in solving legal issues but who are also concerned about how to use law to make the world better. It is a very unique combination.
