Ewa Gmurzynska is director of the Center for American Studies, a joint programme run by Warsaw University and the University of Florida. She is qualified to practice law in Poland and is a member of the regional bar organisation in Warsaw.

Ewa received her PhD degree in the Institute of Civil Law at Warsaw University. She is a graduate of Warsaw University Faculty of Law and Administration and studied for her LLM at University of Florida Levin College of Law. After passing a bar exam and practicing law she joined the University of Florida, first as a student on the comparative law programme and then as a staff attorney at the Center for Governmental Responsibility.

She is also involved in many mediation related initiatives including being a vice president of the Council for Alternative Dispute and Conflict Resolution at the Ministry of Justice.
