When it comes to confronting the carbon crunch, developed countries unfortunately take the position that the CO2 emissions from individual coal power stations in their territory are immaterial. Like Monty Python’s " target="_blank">Mr Creosote, they just can't resist the temptation of that fatal "wafer-thin mint"/unabated coal power station.

The Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), including the island of Tuvalu, has said that any deal that allows a temperature rise of more than 1.5 degrees C is not negotiable.
