Tim Grabiel is working with ClientEarth on forest, climate, access to justice, and air quality issues.

Prior to his current position he worked for five years in California as a staff attorney for the Environmental Justice Project at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).

While there he litigated several successful cases against major polluters and government agencies, and advanced state and federal legislation, on behalf of working-class communities of colour in such areas as air quality, climate, mining, land use, environmental impact assessment, and pollution trading. Before joining NRDC, Tim worked as an organiser and attorney at Make the Road by Walking, a community-based organisation in New York City focusing on open space and housing issues. He has also spent time in Mexico, the Philippines, and Brazil promoting sustainable development, coastal-based fisheries management, forest conservation and human rights.

He is a law graduate of New York University School of Law and received his undergraduate degree in Economics/International Area Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
