Rowan Ryrie joined our London office in November 2009.


Rowan is part of ClientEarth’s marine biodiversity team and works on marine and fisheries law, focusing on the reform of the common fisheries policy and implementation of the marine strategy framework directive.

Before joining the marine biodiversity team Rowan worked on ClientEarth’s environmental justice projects, in particular on improving the transparency and accountability of the European Investment Bank and improving the access to justice for civil society organisations.

Rowan is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and holds an undergraduate degree in Archaeology and Anthropology in addition to a post-graduate qualification in law. Prior to joining ClientEarth, she worked at the firm Mills & Reeve LLP.

Rowan has a wide range of voluntary experience working on conservation and archaeological projects as well as supporting groups campaigning on environmental issues and human rights.
