Doctor Raphaël Kouamé Kra holds a PhD in environmental sciences and management, with a specialisation in environmental law. He has been a teacher-researcher within the Ivorian National office for technical studies and development (BNEDT) since 2013 and took part in several research projects on the relationship between water resources and forests in Cote d’Ivoire. Among others activities, Raphaël also contributed to the drafting of implementing decrees on water legislation (2008) and of REDD+ readiness documentation in Cote d’Ivoire (2014). He also provided legal support to Ivorian civil society within the VPA-FLEGT processes (2015) and landed institutional support to the Programme Hydraulique et Assainissement pour le Millénaire (2015). As ClientEarth’s senior in-country associate in Cote d’Ivoire, Raphaël has been providing legal support to civil society organisations since January 2016.
