Coldplay become our patrons

We are extremely excited to announce that leading rock band Coldplay have become our patrons. Coldplay, whose last album Viva la Vida was the biggest worldwide seller in 2008, said: “ClientEarth is at the forefront of changing the way the planet's resources are governed. They have a positive and pragmatic approach to environmental issues, improving and enforcing environmental law. Coldplay are proud to support them.” A video announcing Coldplay’s support for ClientEarth has received an incredible 75,000 hits since it was posted on the band’s website. Coldplay have long been strong advocates for the environment, and we are pleased that they will continue to speak out for the most important of issues alongside us.” To read what Music News wrote about it click here

We join forces with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall to fight for fish

This month ‘Fish Fight’ was launched to protest against the obligation for fishers to throw perfectly good fish back into the sea – dead - under Europe’s Common Fisheries Policy (CFP). We have partnered in the project, currently an online petition and soon to be a prime-time television series, with celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Greenpeace and the Marine Conservation Society. James Thornton calls for laws against ‘greenwash’ to be strengthened

In an article for The Guardian James Thornton calls for greater enforcement of company reporting laws. Many UK-based companies, whose actions are heavily criticised around the world, don’t acknowledge negative impacts in their reports. This is illegal, but the law is not being upheld.  James said: “it's crucial that the law has an enforcer that is willing and able to act.” To read the whole article click here Click here to make a donation to ClientEarth
