Janet Meissner Pritchard is developing our Climate and Forests Programme. She is an experienced public interest lawyer who has worked on domestic poverty issues, electoral law, and civil rights in the US and in Northern Ireland. She worked for 3 years as an associate in
a leading US law firm. She also served as law clerk to the Chief Judge
of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit,
where she advised the judge regarding numerous cases, including
litigation filed by environmental public interest law firms. Janet
received her Juris Doctor in 1996 from the New York University School
of Law, where she served as Editor in Chief of the New York University
Review of Law and Social Change and was awarded the top graduation
prize by the law faculty. She has been admitted to the bars of New York
