We are working to ensure that the government complies in full with its air quality obligations in London in time for the 2012 Olympics. In October, Mayor Johnson published his draft air quality strategy for London. We have written to him explaining that the measures set out in the plan are insufficient and that he is failing to meet a number of the statutory requirements of his position as a result. In particular, he fails to comply with his duty to produce a strategy that includes measures ensuring air quality standards set by national legislation are met. |
