24 October 2009 | Read the memorandum | Covering letter Effective forest governance is vital if we are to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD) in developing countries. ClientEarth has joined with a group of environmental non-governmental organisations to submit a memorandum to the Participants' Assembly of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility advising on how to improve the clarity, transparency, and accountability of FCPF decision-making. Co-signatories are the Bank Information Center, Forest Peoples Programme, Greenpeace International, Friends of the Earth US, Conservation International, World Wildlife Fund US and the Forest Management Institute. |
