Anaïs Berthier
Anaïs Berthier is a staff lawyer in our Brussels office.
She is specialised in French and European environmental law. Her focus is on the implementation and enforcement of EU environmental law by the EU itself and its Member States.
She has worked for law firms in France and in Belgium, including Huglo-Lepage & Associés, handling cases on a wide range of European law matters including waste, chemicals (including on the REACH Regulation), facilities' permits, environmental liability and climate change. Before moving to Brussels, she worked as a lawyer for the French Ministry of the Environment, where she focused on Kyoto Protocol and World Trade Organisation (WTO) issues. Two reports resulted from her work at the Ministry and became working documents for the government.
She holds degrees in International and European law from French and British universities. She was admitted as a barrister and a solicitor at the French bar in 2005 and is registered as a EU lawyer in Belgium, allowing her to practise in both countries.
